Tradition is strong within the Orthodox
Church. Mass is still given in the same language St.Cyril and his brother
developed to bring the faith to the Slavs in 863 AD, commonly known as
Church Slavanic. Women are still required to wear scarves over their heads
and long skirts or dresses inside the church. The actual liturgy and most
of the rituals that take place during the three hour service are conducted
behind the alter with the priest's back to the congregation.
