glorious past. Georgian, one of only 13 alphabets in the world, was developed
long before many of its neighbors and the Georgians were producing epic
poems by the 12th century. It is a small country and has always been surrounded
by enemies. And it has always survived. Always maintained its culture,
its way of life. And that is a heritage that helps many Georgians maintain
their pride and traditions in spite of the hardships they face.
