A performer catches the eye of the audience during the beginning of the Rostov-na-Donu Circus's 1997 fall season. The circus draws its biggest crowd on Saturday afternoon, when hundreds of people come to watch its world-famous acts, like trapeze artists and boxing kangaroos. Circus performers are well respected in Russia; on of the only surviving schools for circus performers is in Moscow.
